Mark Gunter Awards: showcase

This new year starts with a great news: two photographs of mine have bene selected for the general showcase of the 7th Mark Gunter Award, the cycling photography award in memory of the young sport photographer deceased a few years ago. The amazing photographs of the showcases are here and here.

The one on the left is among the first images of the project I’m currently working on, Vittoria Bussi’s Road2Record – an attempt to reconquer her World Record on the Track Cycling Hour. An incredible story.

Mark Gunter Awards: Veronique Rolland’s shortlist

Not only!

Even more important, a third picture has been shortlisted by one of the five judges, Veronique Rolland, who was “looking out for images that go beyond the ‘classic cycling image’ we are accustomed to- images that would tell the story of the ongoing evolution of the sport”.

She has chosen another image from Road2Record: you can see her full shortlist, both for Pro and Amateur photographers, here.

Update! January 18, 2022

Susanna Brown, the fifth and last judge, has also shortlisted the same picture. That means we are not only in the “top50” (each judge choosing 10 of them), but somewhere above, among the images that have been chosen by two or more judges. What a great news! Here you can see her shortlist.
