Cycling photography, learned together: talks, workshops, one-to-one.

I’ve learned more from talking shop than from any solo practice session — and it’s simply more fun. Sharing what I know, in whatever form that takes, is one of the pillars of this whole project: it’s how riders start shooting more, and how I keep getting better myself.

That’s what this page is for. Pick the format that fits, and let’s get to work.

The conversation doesn’t stop here, either — it continues in the journal, where I collect field notes and reflections, and in Fotogramma, the monthly newsletter I co-host with Francesco of Cyclo Ergo Sum.

"Ride your stories!" - talk

A few hours to ask all you ever wanted to ask but never dared to. Logistics, gear choice, fast editing, stories, failure and success, inspiration. Not a monologue but a conversation with the goal of empowering more riders to shoot.

"Ride your stories!" - workshop

A full day, or even more, with a hands-on approach. Briefing, de-briefing, follow-up. But most of all, we ride and we carry our gear. Planning to be defined according to the duration, the public, the logistical constraints.

Ultrarace stories

Together with Francesco and Marco, a cool evening to tell about the crazy stories we intercepted during VIA race and other ultracycling events. Behind-the-scenes, embarassing and funny situations - all properly documented with videos and pics.

one-to-one

A full immersion workshop, tailored according to your goals and background.

Run a bike café, or any space where cycling community gathers? Let's team up.

A talk or a hands-on workshop hosted at your place gives your regulars a good night out — and gives you a reason to fill the room. Good for them, good for you, good for me. Get in touch and we'll shape the format together: a one-off evening, a recurring series, whatever fits your space and your crowd.

Explore the how and why about cycling photography, in five main approaches:

Ultrashooting
Chasing the longest cycling races, and what they teach me. Dispatches from inside ultra-distance and unsupported races — FOMO, ethics, logistics, and the hundred small decisions that separate covering a race from just being near one.

Philo/Photo
Ideas matters when you shoot. This is where I my background mixes with the actual professional life - where logic, aesthetics, and very old ideas end up explaining a lot about it — why a lens choice is basically a philosophical position, and other things you didn't ask for but might enjoy.

Stories and tellers
Close readings of the authors and works that taught me something and inspire my next work. Not reviews; more like conversations with people who got there first.

Logs/Reports
Where it all started: short shooting logs from early fieldwork. A closed but preserved archive — early, short-form logs from single-day jobs: what was shot, what worked, what didn't. Kept here as a record of where the rest of this started.
